At Kermandie, I found a delightful retreat just minutes from Franklin and Huonville. The atmosphere perfectly struck a balance between cozy and classy, particularly in the common shared lounge where I enjoyed a quiet cup of tea, taking in the serene views. The highlight, however, was the dining experience at the onsite Esperance Restaurant, where I had the pleasure of sampling local flavors while seated with stunning ocean views. The first night, I indulged in a few drinks at the bar—an excellent place for people-watching as plates filled with colorful dishes streamed out to other tables, prompting a bit of food envy. By the second night, I opted to join the culinary fun myself, and the dishes did not disappoint; each was thoughtfully prepared and well-presented. I stayed in a spacious lodge room, complete with comfortable beds, ample water pressure, and reverse cycle heating—ideal after my long afternoon bike rides in the area. With such easy access to the stunning landscapes around Kermandie, I can see myself returning to this gem, both for the local charm and the exceptional dining options.
